UGM - Thurs 9th Oct, 1pm, Old Theatre

by Aled Dilwyn Fisher on October 8, 2008 at 2:48 pm

Make Your Voice Heard at the First UGM of Term!
Union General Meeting (UGM) - TOMORROW Thursday 9th October, 1pm, Old Theatre

This is the first UGM of the term, and guarantees to mix banter and serious debate!

The UGM, which happens every Thursday at 1pm in the Old Theatre, can be attended by all students, where anyone can propose motions - ideas that they want to become the campaigns of the Students’ Union - and vote to change the direction of LSE. LSE is the only university in the country with anything like it - this is what LSE is all about!

The following motions are up for debate:

1. Business Society Bailout
2. March on The City
3. Save LSE Nursery
4. Your Union - New Building, New Union
5. Sheikh Zayed Theatre - Return the Money, Change the Name

As well as that, we’ll be electing the UGM Chair, UGM Vice-Chair and ‘Keeper of the UGM’ (who gets a bell to ring and a cool costume!).

You won’t have any lectures or classes on at 1pm on a Thursday, because it’s clear for the UGM - so come along, debate, vote and change LSE for the better.
