Banking Fair

Internash-cash

If you haven’t got your UK bank account sorted yet, or if you’re still debating what the best student account out there is, then it sounds like you should pop along to the Banking Fair.  There will be a number of banks on campus before, during and after Orientation Festival who will give you all the information on their student bank accounts.  If you like what you hear, then book in to open an account on campus, and start banking!  Being able to choose from a few banks at LSE means that you get a real choice by comparing them side-by-side, and you don’t have to spend time travelling about town.

When and Where?

The Banking Fair will take place in the Old Gym, in the basement of the Old Building at 10am to 5pm on the following days:

All the banks will also have a stall at the Festival Fair, so catch them there to get all their information before you make your choice.

Note: Please expect long queues.  We have asked the banks to organise a sign up system to minimise queuing times and so you may be asked to return at an alternative time to avoid a long wait.

What do I need?

In order to open a bank account the banks will require a number of documents:

ID
You will need to bring an original and valid Passport or National Identity Card.

Certificate of registration
You will need proof of your student status, your Certificate of Registration, which you can get as soon as you register from LSE For You.  Make sure you get your Certificate stamped by someone at Student Services in the Old Building.  For more information on your Certificate of registration go here.

So, if Rachel Stevens of S Club 7 fame was a student here this is what her Certificate of Registration would look like!
